Indianapolis 500 Festival and Mini Marathon

IUPUI is the host sponsor for the annual Mini Marathon. With 35,000 participants, this event is the largest mini marathon in the country. IUPUI is home to the final stretch and last mile of the race. This race attracts thousands of people from Indianapolis and thousands of people from all over the world.

IUPUI also celebrates the month of May with the 500 festival through the 500 festival Kids' Day. This is a free event on Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis for kids to come and play and learn in fun, creative ways. The date for the 2011 500 Festival Kids' Day is Sunday, May 22nd

IUPUI is home to the last mile and finish line of the 500 Festival Mini Marathon.
